Lindsay Clancy’s former nanny took the stand at her former employer’s closely watched murder trial.
Elaine Rossi worked for the Clancy family from September to December 2022 and helped take care of the three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan.
Clancy is charged with murder in the deaths of the children, who were found strangled with exercise bands in the basement of their Duxbury, Mass., home in January 2023.
Rossi’s testimony on Wednesday, Aug. 5, was streamed live by the Associated Press, among other outlets.

While Rossi was on the stand, prosecutors played a brief video of Callan, whom the nanny primarily cared for.
The video, which shows the baby drinking from a bottle, was taken by Rossi and sent to Clancy

Rossi later testified that Clancy had mentioned she was having postpartum difficulties but that she never worried about the children in their mother’s care.
“She cared for their safety, she was very concerned with Callan’s eating and sleeping,” Rossi said. “She was a wonderful mother.”
Clancy, who jumped out of a second-story window after strangling the kids, does not dispute that she killed them. But her defense argues that she was overmedicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time and was not criminally responsible.
Prior to Rossi’s testimony Wednesday, the court heard from multiple forensics experts involved in the investigation.
The trial is expected to last several more weeks.
