KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office is honoring two deputies killed in the line of duty 8 years ago.
Wyandotte County Deputy Theresa King and Deputy Patrick Rohrer were both killed while transporting a suspect from the courthouse to the jail on June 15, 2018.
Prosecutors said a shackled Antoine Fielder took one of the deputies’ guns and fired at them while he was being transported.

Rohrer died at the age of 35. He left behind a wife and two small children. King died at the age of 44, leaving behind three children.
Fielder pleaded guilty in December 2024 to two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated robbery, avoiding the death penalty at a trial.
He was sentenced on March 6, 2025, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Eight years ago, their loss shook our community. We mourn their pᴀssing while celebrating their dedication and love for their work, families, and community. We will always remember their bravery and ultimate sacrifice.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with their families, friends, and colleagues as we continue their legacy.
