Elizabeth is one of four members of the Siders family facing charges of child abuse after police said they found her 16 children living in squalor in the Hamden, Ohio, home on July 30

Elizabeth Siders, mother of the 16 “feral” Ohio children found allegedly living in squalor, may have her amended bond request rejected by a judge as prosecutors say she could face new charges.

Elizabeth is one of four members of the Siders family facing charges of child abuse after police said they found her 16 children living in squalor in the Hamden, Ohio, home on July 30.

Police at the time had described the children raging from age one to 18, as living like “feral animals” in just one room in the filthy home. Authorities had said during the first days of the investigation that the children were largely confined to a single 12 x 12ft room. It comes as the case took a tragic twist after Elizabeth’s plea from jail.

Elizabeth’s attorney, J. Thomas Stolly requested that she be released on a recognizance bond in early July.

However, Vinton County Prosecutor William Archer pushed back in a filing Monday, deeming her a flight risk and “potential risk to the victims in this case.”

Archer also said that Elizabeth has new “serious” felony charges that a Grand Jury will consider. Archer did not share what the new charges were, and they were not listed in court documents or jail records, local NBC affiliate NBC4i reports.

Elizabeth, alongside father-in-law Gary Siders, 73, husband Gary Siders Jr,. 36, and mother-in-law Christina Siders,67, was charged with second-degree felony child endangerment.

All of Elizabeth’s children are currently in state custody.

If the amended bond request is granted, Siders would be able to remain outside jail if she agrees to wear an ankle monitor and appear for hearings.

Anders also argued that Siders shouldn’t be released from custody until her mental competency is evaluated. She was given a competency hearing on Aug 10 to determine if she is mentally fit to stand trial.

The other members of the Siders family were also granted competency hearings.

Stolly had written in court filings that Elizabeth may be dealing with “significant mental health issues.”

He added that she can’t afford bond and that she was not a threat to public safety, as well as noting that Elizabeth’s “principal desire” is to “reunite with her children.”

Stolly wrote that Elizabeth was open to cooperating with the court so she could potentially be reunited with her children.

Christina also requested an amended bond, similar to Elizabeth’s.

The state has not yet filed a response in her case and has provided no indication of potential additional charges against any of the four adults in the Siders family.

Gary Siders Sr. is the only individual released from jail, as he was granted a bond similar to the one requested by Elizabeth Siders during his hospitalization, the news outlet reports.

Elizabeth, Christina, and Gary Siders Jr. are currently being held on a $300,000 bond each. Meanwhile, another ‘house of horrors’ survivor revealed the disturbing future ahead for the ‘almost feral’ Ohio kids.
